Project Autumn Maple
With many of our projects, we believe that it’s important to take the personality and lifestyle of the homeowners into consideration. This could not be more true when it comes to Autumn Maple Manor! My clients love to travel, especially to sunny, all-inclusive resorts. I mean, who doesn’t love a relaxing beach, great food and even better drinks?
So when they asked us to incorporate a tropical theme, we couldn’t have agreed more! While finding inspiration came naturally, the question remained of how we were going to do it. It all came together when we were able to find a collection of really great prints that showcased a classic beach theme.
So, we ran with it! And it ended up working exceptionally well. The black and white colour scheme of the artwork truly provided the perfect background for this modern farmhouse meets island vibe home. Complemented by artwork and tropical plants, it was time to really get into this project.
Believe it or not, this kitchen isn’t new! We decided to spray and refinish the existing millwork to elevate the space. Wooden elements were included to tie the space together, from one room to the next. We then added architectural detailing to the communal spaces, including the living room and family room walls. We covered an odd window that was originally above the fireplace by extending the stone upwards, creating a symmetrical and spectacular result.
After gutting the en suite and giving the space an entirely new look, it was time to add furnishings, creature comforts and the finishing touches. The furniture was predominantly sourced from Corner Stone in Cambridge, although the tables in the kitchen are from Mobilia, the table is from Crate and Barrel, and area rugs are Rug and Weave. Chosen with quality in mind, all of the faucets are Brizo, luxury vinyl flooring is from Twelve Oaks in the Sherwood Plus Collection and all tile was supplied by Ceramic Decor. No project is complete without the perfect paint, which is why we chose Chantilly Lace from Benjamin Moore.
We can say with confidence that this family will feel a hint of the tropics, while in the comfort of their own home.
